Doc Holliday the Life and Legend

This is a short 10 minute video I put together taken from the book “Doc Holliday The Life and Legend” by Gary L. Roberts. I really have enjoyed the book for its writing. It has been very inspiring for me to get back into Legends of the Old West by Games Workshop. In order to give the viewer a feeling for the book I just simply read a couple of pages. I illustrate the action with some photos taken from the web. I hope you enjoy this. The book is great and I highly recommend it.

Yeah that is an interesting point about the old photographic methods and color! The famous picture of Wyatt definitely looks like he has dark hair. Imagining him with blond is quite interesting. Pictures were taken of him much later in life but of course his hair had turned white.

To follow up on the TMP comment re hair color : Doc and the Earps were all blondes. Early photography showed yellow as black. All contemporary descriptions , and a least one painting of Wyatt, describe them as blonde. For an example of “yellow as black” see the photo of TR in his Rough Rider dress uniform. His yellow cavalry collar shows up as dark, leading some museums to make copies of the uniform with a blue collar.

I came to your site via TMP. I think of myself as an Earp/Tombstone/OK Corral fanatic and I love what you’ve done with the little film clips.
