So as a service to all, I will state that even with the ads displayed here, I have not received anything at all from any company whose products I have reviewed.

And that is not true. Not in the least. Wargames LLC helped support the Greater Pacific War with greatly reduced prices on figures. Sergent Major Miniatures also supplied a lot of figures for one of the games on that project. Sabol Designs gave me an extra tray when I ordered the Division Army Transport system.

The ads on this page have not produced a check but in 3 years have gotten me close to getting my first $100 check. For the number of visitors I get here it is not unexpected that I don't have a lot of income generated by that.

Bob Bowling of RLBPS painted up 3 LCMs for me a few Japanese pill boxes. I still haven't gotten to use those in a game but one is planned.

And that is it. The FTC rules make sense. It wasn't until I read that article that I really thought about the issue and the responsibility of blogs. We think of them as just personal opinion pages. But there is a link to the readers and their potential buying habits. Readers SHOULD KNOW when there is compensation so that they know the opinion isn't totally independent.

So what do you think? Bloggers should, in my opinion, be upfront. The article suggests self-policing. I think that can make sense if all bloggers work together to keep each other "real".

Welcome to a new entry in my Blogroll. The site Shogun Ki is great. I discovered it this morning while reading news from the Asian War list server. I've been getting more and more interested in redoing Japanese Art of War and broadly publishing the rules with all the updates the last 5 years have generated. He gives very extensive book reviews and discusses the Samurai time period extensively. If you aren't aware you can create your own daily magazine by collecting various blogs that discuss things you like. I use http://reader.google.com to consolidate mine but there are several RSS aggregators available out there. For me it has transformed the way I look at the web. While there are a lot of blogs that add nothing, there are a good number that are detailed, interesting and worth taking the time to peruse. When you click the "Read More..." you get to see one particular folder I've made using Google reader. Try it out and don't forget to add Corpcommander to you daily feed!

Lately traffic has picked up as I have have many more interesting things to write about. I've been watching the logs closely to see what keywords are bringing people here and what they seem to do once they have found the blog. I've promoted other blogs and many of them have promoted me back. A big thanks to the Chicago Terrain Factory for having a wonderful site and for all of the referals. I am getting hammered at work which has made getting ready for Conquest a bit tricky. However the Zuzzy Mat is almost done! Yay! So look for an article on lessons learned along with several nice photos of the final product. It is at the 90% mark and I have to say it is easily the best $50 I've spent for gaming in a long time. Again, highly recommended!

Well I am done building low level statistical analysis modules for NLP today. Tonight is Halo night though I doubt I have the strength for it. Thank God tomorrow is Friday, I don't think I could take another day of this!

I like to promote other blogs and websites when I can and here is one that, while isn't prolific does have some great articles. This fellow has taken planes from the Wings of War series and dressed them up to be squadron mates. It looks great!

The new site for Wargames is up. This company is continuing the tradition of the original Wargames. Baxter Key and Nancy Tiller are partners running it. Great couple, great company. They have an amazing inventory with a warehouse here in Nashville. If you sign up before February 2nd you will be entered into a contest to win some cool prizes. There is an open house this Saturday as well. I hope to go.
