Archives for May 2005

Well, it will be here this coming weekend. I am really looking forward to it – mainly because my two best buddies from New England are flying in on Thursday. It should be a blast. I am looking forward to see what new at the show and get in some games. I’ve recently been made aware of a set of rules called “Disposable Heroes” and am keen on trying them out if anyone has them at the show. We shall see. I am also hoping to get some of my painted figures soon. I used some local lads to help me get these things painted. Its a shame to have nice lead just sitting bare or worse, in the same package you bought them. I am going to probably have all of my unpainted lead dealt with using professional painters or do it myself.

Star Wars

Well I went to see Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith at 0001 last night. And I still made it into work by 9:30 today. It was great. I’ve been playing the Star Wars miniatures game a lot since last December. I swore I would never get into anything that is collectable and yet… there it was. The one game that could get me to break that vow.

The game is a ton of fun and the new RotS figures are very nice. I have an almost complete set. I have complete sets for Rebel Storm and Clone Strike. I don’t get to play enough but that is mainly because I haven’t been with a stable gaming group for a while.

Planet of the Apes

I got the new Boiler Suited Apes from Eureka (via Brigade Games) and they are great! Nice casts and animation. I plan on using them with my Dogs of War figs and adapting DOW to run games. Just yet another reason why I have to finish my work on my modern 28mm buildings.

More to come later!
